Kingrex T20 AMP based on the Tripath TA2020 chip set. Includes external upgraded PSU power supplu as pictured! (pics used with permission)
The T20-AMP with the TA2020 chipset has some additional power which allows for more flexibility when choosing loudspeakers. You can easily reach acceptable volume levels comparable to live performances in medium spaces with loudspeaker sensitivity as low as 86db. Sound is very well articulated and the sound stage is wide, representing a lot of space around the instruments and vocals. The frequency range is also very precise from the right down to the lows. The build quality, finish of the amp and PSU is immediately apparant as well.
The PSU boasts a 45VA high effective transformer, a transistor regulated power stabilized circuit and NIPPON CHEMICON high quality aluminum electroytic capacitors.
In addition to the PSU, also included is an AC/DC universal auto-switching type adapter that adapts to worldwide voltages (100 to 240v). DC output ranges from 12.17v to to 12.37v.
Using the AC/DC adaptor, the T20 presents alot of detail, good 3-dimension & a very good balance of warmth and clarity – just like the newer generation of tube amps.
Using the PSU, the valve bloom (sounding like tube amps) is further enhanced. Sound stage is more expansive due to more valve bloom. Bass is deeper. Mid range is thicker and warmer. Some have commented that it really sounds like KT-88 push-pull amp! This is a very special amp, folks.
